6 Things You Should Start Investing in When You Turn 30

The day I turned 30 was one of the saddest days of my life. Not that something dramatic happened by the way, but I was feeling a bit (well, that is an understatement!) sorry for myself. The twenties were over and I could not even check any of the boxes I had imagined so far. No career prospects (although, given the credit, I would be starting in the industry within a month), no PhD yet (still writing that damn thesis…), no kids (who knew!) and more importantly I would never be in one of the lists of ’30 under 30’ (let’s face it, there is no bright future for ’40 under 40’ or ’50 under 50’ either…). Long story short, life was passing and I was just looking behind it in a deserted station…

Just then, a message came from one of my best friends along with a big bouquet of yellow flowers:

’30 it is! Still young but wiser’.

Hmm, wiser?’ I thought. ‘Hah, who am I kidding? There is no way wisdom suits on me…’

Fast forward 6 years now, when I look back at those moments, I see glimpses of wisdom indeed. But they were all bound to fade away without cultivation. And these below what I carefully cultivated in the early 30s, are the best investments I have done in my life so far:
